... and another year is drawing to an end. Wow. I cannot believe 2012 is almost over. Time does surely go by fast, doesn't it?

I think December 31st is a good point in time to properly reflect about oneself. To me 2012 was a year with ups and downs. Looking back there is a handful of events which made and still make me incredibly sad.
First of all the loss of very important friend who I lost due to my own reckless- and selfishness. I also grew further apart from other people who are really important to me. Coping with the fact that there's basically nothing I can do about it gave and still gives me a really hard time. I also regret spending way too much time alone at home.
I should also try to think about the positive aspects of 2012, shouldn't I?
In 2012 I finished my first long-term internship. I started my 5th semester at university in which I did exceptionally well and in which I received more good grades than I had expected.
I was also able to visit my first convention in the UK - Kapow! Comic Convention - which was a blast. I met many writers and artists of some of my favourite comics personally. I got a couple of comicbooks signed, gosh, a picture of my costume even made it into an issue of Journey Into Mystery!
Besides that I got invited to a convention in Denmark for the first time, was allowed to judge the cosplay competition and met many old and new friends there!
I met truly inspiring personalities like Yaya Han and some of my favourite actors from Game of Thrones, like Jason Momoa, Iain Glen and Finn Jones. I made it to another amazing convention in the UK... A good friend of mine gave birth to a lovely daughter... and moreover my friends and my family are all healthy and alright. Maybe 2012 wasn't as as up-and-down as I thought..?
Anyway, I should be grateful for what I have. I'm looking forward to 2013 alredy! No matter how many difficulties I'll have to have - I'll definitely make the best out of it! I hope you do too!

Here's a list of all costumes I finished in 2012...
Costumes of 2012 - Starting at the upper left of the picture and ending on the lower right...
The Spoiler from DC's Detective Comics
Ion Fortuna from Trinity Blood
Catwoman from DC's Catwoman
Robin from DC's Batman
Leah of Hel from Marvel's Journey Into Mystery
Wonder Girl from DC's Young Justice: Invastion
Alois Trancy from Kuroshitsuji II
Daenerys Targaryen from HBO's A Game of Thrones
Korra from The Legend of Korra
Belle from Disney's The Beauty and the Beast
Princess Leia from Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope
And what do my New Year's Cosplay Resolutions look like?
In 2013 I want to get out of my artistic comfort zone. I'm looking for challenges. I will try to make bigger and more difficult costumes than I have done so far. I also want to focus on improving my prop-making and wig-styling skills. And I want to organize interesting and unconventional photoshootings!
In case that you want to give me advice, tips and/or constructive criticism on my work of 2012 feel free to leave me a comment! I really appreciate it!

Sina, I only just learned of you yesterday when I came across that wonderful Miss Martian picture of yours, but reading your words above and seeing your pictures, I already think you're a rather special person and a treasure to the cosplayer community. I'm sorry to hear of you losing a friendship - I had that once too and still regret it - but I hope you'll have many wonderful experiences in 2013 and beyond, and as a fellow deviant I send you my love and regards.
