Whohoo! Good Morning, Ladies and Gentlemen! How are you?

➡ This week I both reached 1.500+ Watchers/Followers and 60.000 Page Views! I still cannot believe this happened so fast! THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!!! You are the best! ♥ I'm really happy you like my work and I really appreciate your support! On to the next 60.000 PVs..!

➡ Besides that I decided which costumes to start working on next. I know, I've been a bit all over the place lately and all like: "Woah! I want to cosplay A! And B! And C! And X, Y and Z!" But the following plans are a 100 per cent set. I promise.

:bulletred: Wondergirl / Cassie Sandsmark from Young Justice: Invasion
Because I needed something to compensate university work with I started working on Cassie from Young Justice: Invasion. Some of you might have seen the WIP pictures of this costume on Tumblr already... This costume will be entirely made from left-over fabrics of other costumes. It's nothing special. I just wanted something nice and easy in between...

:bulletred: Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones
I love Game of Thrones and I wanted to make a costume from a live-action series for quite a while now. I'll debut this costume at GenkiCon in Denmark in August. At the moment I'm doing research to find proper fabrics which is rather difficult. I ordered a wig last week and will take some pictures with it as soon as I get it.

Alright! Back to my third term-paper...

First of all, congratulations on the watches, follows and views. I assure you they're all well deserved. Your work is excellent. :) As for the cosplays you have planned, I'm sure you'll portray both characters excellently. I'm also thinking of cosplaying a character from Game of Thrones some time soon. It's just, the series is just so amazing, omg....

Best of luck! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧

You should definitely go for a GoT cosplay! The series is way too awesome not to cosplay! ;)

My plan is to cosplay Arya, and it's perfect because I am not so tall. Hahaha. :'D

Aah! That sounds great. Arya's one of my favourites too - just like Daenerys.
I cannot cosplay her though. I look too old and too feminine.

Daenerys and Arya are also two of my favorites in the show, but, in my case, I can't cosplay Daenerys, because I'd just look short and weird. Hahaha. OTL

Yes. I'm going to attend GenkiCon. :D I happened to be lucky enough to get invited as a cosplay judge.
So in case that nobody else is planning to cosplay Daenerys there - yes. The Dany you'll see there will most likely be me. :D

Ooh, you're going to be one of the judges =o
To be honest i suspected that you might be one of the judges for the show, went into genki's homepage to look if they had announced any judges which they hadn't so didn't mention it (plus i could have been wrong =o ). I mean why else would people outside of Denmark come to genki, it's so small compared to the cons in Germany xD

Well certainly hope you'll have a good time at genki-con then. It is kind of considered the best con in denmark, even if it does not have the entry to the wcs.

If i see you i'll maybe come and say hi or something =)

Yes, I am. :) Actually I sent the organizers a text with my cosplay history, etc. a while ago. They wanted to update the homepage a while ago already... but never mind. :)
The conventions in Denmark might be small, but they are professionally organized and I really like the atmosphere there. Everybody's so kind and polite. I already went to J-Pop-Con in November last year and it has been one of the coolest conventions I have ever been to. Besides that your cosplay competitions are so much better.

Oh, I'm pretty sure I'll have a lot of fun!
I haven't decided on which costumes to bring yet, but yes, say hi if you catch me! I'd love to meet you personally! :D

If you found J-popcon to be professionally organized and a good con you will like Genki-con then, really. J-pop often makes many mistakes, and Genki-con seems to learn from those and improve upon them =)
And i'd say the cosplay competitions first got better recently. I heard that that some of the cons had started to rule out many naruto acts, or those that are just simply a sad excuse of an act ( like people dancing the caramel dansen on stage, oooh i don't know if you witnessed that one at the last j-pop. You could just see the judges facepalming ). But in short, the quality has gone up lately =)

I'll look out for daenerys, so if you're cosplaying something else, not my fault! xD

Oh! That sounds great. :) Compared to German Conventions J-Pop-Con WAS professionally organized though.
I know the typical "Caramel-Dansen" skits. I think you'll stumble across them at cosplay competition all over the world. But never mind, I'm looking forward to the skits. :)

Haha! I'll announce my costume schulde a few days for the convention on my facebook page. :)

So cons like AnimagiC or Connichi con or not professionally organized? =o
Yeah well i heard that at some con they started to reject those kind of acts, just something i heard, not sure.
But otherwise the acts HAVE been good yes. Again i don't understand why con's like SVS had great acts because seeing those acts just makes me think "they could have used this for J-pop or Genki and won something so much better o_o", that's how good i consider them =D

But i'm getting sidetracked now, again, hope you will have a good and hope i can say hi :)

No. They aren't professionally organized either. They're made from fans for fans. Something like this can be pretty nice, it shows though. I think there's a limit to this hole "From fans for fans." thing... as soon as the convention becomes too big you should give it to somebody who knows how to organize events properly.

Well, some people don't feel the urge to win anything. :) They just want to show their nice performances on stage. I can understand them.

It would be my pleasure to meet you!

either you'll need a lot of suede and three tiny dragons or flowing lavender silk - depending on the outfit you choose!

I'll go for lavender silk. I'd love to make the outfit she's wearing in Quarth (Season II), but the fabric is impossible to find...

Wha was your choice of fabric for this costume? The choice of fabric to a certain costume looks pretty hard. How did ou make that choice? Based of what criteria?

Well, first of all I take a look at the setting the series takes place in. If it's an historical series or a fantasy series which takes place in the past I usually go for cotton/natural types of fabric, because it suits the genre much better. If the character is from a science-fiction or superhero series I tend to go for synthetic fabrics. They look more futuresque.
Afterwards I examine the costume of the character I'd like to cosplay carefully and check if the fabric needs certain features. If you want to cosplay a superhero in a skin-tight suit you have no other choice than to go for stretchy/elastic fabrics, for example.
And well, yeah. But that's basically it. I've been cosplaying for 7 years now. Consequently certain fabrics come to my mind as soon as I look at a character's outfit...

Regarding fabric choices.
I agree with, historical moments and fabric choices are interconnected. Cotton, wool are not easy to work with and they demand some serious sewing skills to be put together in a way that seems natural. Synthetic fabrics such as Lycra, neoprene, latex, or PVC are even harder to mold and in some cases demand further help to get it together, not to mention prices can skyrocket. Sometimes in a question of honesty to the character, sometimes is a question of innovative thought, sometimes is merely money talking, but you always seem to find a suitable answer to each character need.

Regarding photograph
There always something extra to be taken in consideration here. I like photography since I was old enough to gold a camera properly. So, my commentaries in this area are a bit more extensive. I like experimenting and trying different filter combinations or light setups so I can be a real pain inte derrière when it comes to critique those aspects.

Congratulations, you ate an amazing cosplayer. Dedication, passion it's what we are looking for and got everything, plus you are a talented in the arcane arts of sewing....not to mention incredibly beautiful (but I would fall in the cyber-Romeo category) cliche...

You are absolutely right!
I don't think cotton is difficult to put together though. :) I like working with it. It's neither nor slippery nor too thick for a normal sewing machine. Besides that it doesn't fringe. Synthetic fabrics are much harder to deal with. Working with lycra, vinyl and pleather is a pain. I have never worked with PVC or latex before. Therefore I don't have any experiences to exchange here. :)

Oh! I really appreciate elaborate comment, especially elaborate comments of people who know what they're talking about. I know that many deviantArtists - especially cosplayers - tend to be rather sensitive when it comes to constructive criticism, but I really appreciate it. I want to get better and you cannot get better without getting to know your weaknesses and flaws first. :)

Thank you very, very much! :D

That's great I photographs ever since I was old enough to pick a camera without destroying it. For a lawyer I am a keen photographer and a terrible poet but I'll keep trying for as long as I can. I met my sare os cosplayers and photograph a few, you see amazing work out there people committed to a level of craftsmanship I never though possibe. You are great in each and every sense.
